The Norwegian children’s fantasy film Julenatt i Blåfjell is released on DVD and BluRay on November 17, just in time for the Christmas 2010 season. This film is part of a popular Christmas fantasy franchise that includes TV series and stage plays.
Julenatt i Blåfjell (English title; 
Magic Silver) opened in theatres on November 13, 2009 and almost to the day one year later, the DVD and BluRay comes out for the first time. The story is about the first meeting of the blue gnomes and the red gnomes, and the hunt for the magical blue silver.
The “nisse” creature in Norwegian mythology is a small, friendly gnome that often helped out on farms, without people knowing about it. The blue and red gnomes in this franchise are different, and created for a fictional universe that has been embodied in two TV series in 1999 and 2002, a theme park, a stage play in 2002 and countless spinoff merchandise. Julenatt i Blåfjell is the first theatrical feature, and was co-directed by Roar Uthaug, who also directed the first Cold Prey film in 2006.
