Thale around the world

This small but unique Norwegian fantasy film has made the festival circuit but still have some territories to conquer.

In the US, Thale was screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March and will be getting a US release on March 1, 2013 by XLrator Media. “Thale is a haunting and atmospheric thriller that grips you from the opening scene to the chilling finale. It once again shows Scandinavia to be a rich wellspring for today’s most compelling and stylish thrillers, from Let The Right One In to Troll Hunter to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and its sequels”, said Barry Gordon, CEO of XLrator Media.

The UK general release is planned to be around the American release, and plans are afoot to organize theatrical screenings in these two important markets. Thale will then come out in France on 20th March next year, as well as Germany (late November), Russia, Japan, Switzerland, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Ahead of its UK premiere next year, Thale will be screened at the Leeds International Film Festival on November 10th.

The Norwegian DVD is available in shops now.

In further Thale news, the original music soundtrack, composed by Raymond Enoksen and Geirmund Simonsen, has now been released digitally on iTunes.

Dates are subject to change.
